According to the report published on July 27th, 2020, “Enterprises are making tangible progress with AI initiatives, but also many mistakes. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) grows more widespread and new solutions emerge, organizations are realizing AI’s increased value, but also facing new challenges. This report will help you assess AI-specific maturity and adoption.” According to Gartner, “Over the coming year, enterprises will be interested in using AI primarily to increase operational efficiencies and enable digital transformations.”
In this context, Exponential AI was included as a Sample Vendor for Decision Intelligence (DI) again by Gartner Analyst Erick Brethenoux.
According to Brethenoux, “The current hype around automated decision making and augmented intelligence fueled by the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in decision making, is pushing DI toward the Peak of Inflated Expectations.” “Decision Intelligence (DI) provides a framework that brings multiple traditional and advanced disciplines together to design, model, align, execute, monitor and tune decision models and processes. Those disciplines include decision management (including advanced nondeterministic techniques such as agent-based systems), decision support, continuous intelligence and process management; and techniques such as descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics,” Brethenoux writes.
In addition to being recognized as a Sample Vendor for Decision Intelligence, Exponential AI has also been recognized for Composite AI.
According to the report, “Composite AI refers to the combined application of different AI techniques to improve the efficiency of learning, to increase the level of ‘common sense’ and ultimately to much more efficiently solve a wider range of business problems.” “Composite AI offers two main benefits in the short term. First, it brings the power of AI to a broader group of organizations that do not have access to large amounts of historical or labeled data but do possess significant human expertise. Composite AI is one of the strategies to deal with ‘small data.’ Second, it helps to expand the scope and quality of AI applications, in the sense that more types of reasoning challenges and required intelligence can be embedded in composite AI. Other benefits, depending on the techniques applied, include better interpretability and the support of augmented intelligence.”
On naming in the Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2020 CEO John Keith said, “We believe that the success of our Enso platform in rapidly deploying AI solutions against complex use cases across Healthcare, Financial Services and Retail, has distinguished Exponential AI in Decision Intelligence. In addition, we believe Enso’s dexterity in structuring pipelines, combining AI approaches and leveraging domain knowledge, especially in healthcare has been key to its adoption across leading Fortune 500 companies and our inclusion in Composite AI.”
